“Ezisaimani” Hemamalini Govindarajan
She is the daughter of Srirangam “Balapandithamani” Thirumalachariar Swamigal, a leading Vedic scholar and vidwan in Vedic explanations / historic epics discourses. Her aunt Ms.Thangammal, retired music teacher-Government higher secondary school, TN, INDIA, who is the disciple of Dr.S.Ramanathan, molded her to expertise in Carnatic vocal & Veena. She also learnt Bharathanatyam in Tanjore traditional style initially from “Kalaimamani” Revathy Muthuswamy, Srirangam Natyala and subsequently from Thiruvaiyaru Music College. She has completed her postgraduate M.A (Indian Music) from Mother Teresa University and continuing her studies with the same institution for M.Phil in Indian Music, she has plans to do research on Indian Music & Mythology. She is an eminent scholar in Sanskrit, Hindi & Sri Vaishnava Sri.
She is proficient in traditional Indian arts and music (Carnatic Vocal, Veena & Bharathanatyam) and preaches it over the past 20 years
Department of Government examinations have awarded her with Higher-grade certificate for Carnatic Vocal and Veena.
She also undergone Teacher’s Training Course and awarded with Technical Teacher’s Certificate (TTC) by the Government of Tamilnadu, India.
She was associated with leading schools in Chennai, Tamilnadu, India namely Saraswathi Vidyalaya & The Ashram for a brief period as part-time Music teacher.
As part of social cause, since 1996 she started an institution to teach the traditional arts (Carnatic Vocal, Veena & Bharathanatyam),“VasuVarsha Arts Academy” which is situated at #4,Kakkan Street, Balaiya Garden, Madipakkam, Chennai-600091, Tamilnadu, India. She has completed more than two decade in popularizing the Indian traditional arts to the society.
Sri Sankara Mutt managed “Asthiga Samajam” has awarded her with a title “Manithakulamamani” for her commitment to the society. The South India Social Cultural Academy has awarded her with the title “NatyaThilagam” as accomplishment award for her contribution to Indian Classical Art –Bharathanatyam.
She has students / Shishya’s from overseas like Canada, Russia, German and Srilanka for specialized training during vacation.
She has given Carnatic Vocal / Veena performances at the popular Sri Thiyagaraja Aradhana music festival, Thiruvaiyaru, Tamilnadu, India and also given extensive Vocal performances in popular television network.
She has conducted more than 100 performances with her group organized by various welfare wings/women’s associations like AG’s Office, Lion’s Club, and Temple Sabah’s.
She also does short-listing and training students for various TV Channel and AIR programmes.
She is an eminent choreographer and done various dance modules like “Krishnaleela”; “Kandan Kaviyam”; “Dasavadharam”;” Sakthi Thandavam”,“ Thirupavai”and Bharathiyar Kavithigal as sequential event.
